El Archivo Capitular de la Catedral cumple 900 años

El Cabildo celebra el aniversario con la difusión de nueve vídeos divulgativos en redes sociales sobre este espacio.
El Archivo Capitular de la Catedral de Segovia comenzó su actividad en el año 1120 con la restauración de la Diócesis de Segovia por el obispo, Pedro de Agen, y del propio cabildo catedralicio. Para celebrar 900 aniversario de su existencia, la Catedral lanza una serie de nueve vídeos, en las redes sociales, sobre este importante espacio para la historia civil y eclesiástica de Segovia, durante mayo y parte junio.
Según explicaron desde el Cabildo de la Catedral de Segovia se editaron ocho vídeos, más uno introductorio, que recogen las obras destacadas de los cuatro fondos que integran el Archivo: documentos, manuscritos e impresos, música y planos-dibujos. Las piezas elegidas, explicadas por el archivero Bonifacio Bartolomé, son un repaso sobre su importancia, contexto, fecha de realización, autor o el material utilizado, a la vez que el espectador podrá ver estas obras de forma única y, muchos, por primera vez.
Las piezas fueron seleccionadas por su visibilidad equitativa de todo el conjunto y se comenzará con el lanzamiento del vídeo introductorio, que recorre el Archivo y sus estancias. A continuación, durante la primera semana, se publicarán los dos vídeos relativos a las obras documentales: el documento más antiguo conservado, del 1115, y el libro de acuerdos de 1808, en el que se recoge el contenido de las sesiones del Cabildo, donde se anota todo lo acontecido en la Catedral y otros hechos históricos relacionados con la ciudad de Segovia desde 1321 hasta la actualidad.

La segunda semana se centrará en los fondos de manuscritos e impresos con un vídeo que destaca los rasgos más importantes del Sinodal de Aguilafuente, primer libro impreso en España y en castellano en 1472 por el alemán, Juan Párix. La otra obra elegida es un valioso manuscrito titulado ‘Fons Memorabilium Universi’, un curioso tipo de enciclopedia del siglo XV de cuatro tomos realizada por Domenico Bandini.
En la tercera semana se hará referencia a la música como uno de los aspectos más sobresaliente del Archivo Capitular para la liturgia a lo largo de la historia, con la publicación de dos vídeos correspondientes al Cancionero de Música del siglo XV, que contiene piezas únicas en diferentes idiomas y a un ejemplar de libro de coro o facistol que sobresale por su gran formato y miniaturas dibujadas.
Los dos últimos vídeos tratarán sobre un plano y cinco dibujos entre los alrededor de 90 que se conservan. En el primero, muestra la planta original de la Catedral trazada por el primer arquitecto del templo, Juan Gil de Hontañón, en 1525. El vídeo final exhibe cinco dibujos o propuestas del proyecto de pavimentación del interior del templo, llevado a cabo durante el siglo XVIII.
La publicación de estos últimos vídeos coincidirá con el 9 de junio, Día Internacional de los Archivos, que este año, debido a la situación de emergencia sanitaria, no podrá celebrarse con normalidad a través de las habituales visitas guiadas al Archivo, al igual que otras actividades planteadas a nivel didáctico antes del inicio de la pandemia.
NUEVE SIGLOS DE HISTORIA. Con la restauración de la Diócesis de Segovia el 25 de enero de 1120 se crea el Archivo de la Catedral de Segovia, memoria del cabildo catedralicio, y en parte, historia de la Diócesis y provincia de Segovia, custodiando los documentos más importantes de la antigua Catedral de Santa María, y de la actual Catedral de la Asunción y San Frutos.
En el siglo XVI, sus fondos se trasladaron de las inmediaciones del Alcázar, donde se alzó la anterior catedral y su obispado, hasta la nueva catedral. Hasta 1975, con la inauguración de sus actuales instalaciones, toda la documentación estaba en la llamada Librería, encima de la Sala Capitular. El conjunto de documentación del archivo, de unos 400 metros lineales, se puede agrupar en tres secciones: archivo, biblioteca y archivo musical.
En la sección denominada archivo hay: 716 pergaminos del siglo XII al XVII, que abarcan bulas papales, privilegios reales, documentos rodados, cartas de compra y venta, censos, y otros; documentación suelta, en 1.124 cajas, entre los siglos XIII al XX, como contratos, facturas, testamentos o correspondencia; registros de actas capitulares, mayordomías (vestuario, común, pitanzas, horas, reparticiones, mozos de coro y capilla, labores, fábrica, pobres y obras pías, reverende) y diezmos, desde el siglo XIV al XX, y material cartográfico, con 90 planos y trazas.
En cuanto a la biblioteca contiene: 214 códices de los siglos XIII al XV sobre literatura, historia, medicina, ciencias, clásicos, filosofía, derecho canónico o teología, destacando ‘La Biblia del Siglo XIII’ o la copia en castellano de uno de los ocho libros perdidos de astronomía de Alfonso X el Sabio; 37 manuscritos microfilmandos que abarcan cuatro siglos y 534 incunables, con la pieza fundamental del ‘Sinodal de Aguilafuente’ (1472), primer libro impreso en España del que sólo queda este ejemplar. Los incunables de esta colección se imprimieron en Italia, Alemania, Bélgica y España.
Además la Biblioteca guarda libros e impresos, desde el siglo XV a la actualidad y la Colección Tomás Baeza González, de este erudito eclesiástico, que incluye una amplia información escrita de la Segovia decimonónica.
Por último, el Archivo Musical atesora 89 framentos del siglo XVII de música medieval y renacentista; el Cancionero de la Catedral de Segovia y sus 204 obras de música europea y española de la época de los Reyes Católicos; composiciones vocales de tema religioso y profano, multilingüe, polifónicas y 82 cantorales de los siglos XVI al XIX. También cuenta con cerca de 5.400 partituras, 4.515 de ellas catalogadas, sin contar los textos habitualmente cantados de la Misa y del Oficio Divino durante estos nueve siglos, con compositores de la tall de Miguel de Irizar, Jerónimo de Carrión y Juan Montón y Mallén.

Son hermosas sentencias en apotegmas convertidas de las que hay que echar mano
si a mano viene y aunque no venga siempre nos vendrán bien pues cada lobo por
su senda. Quien no sabe pedir no sabe vivir y el que no llora no mama. Más da
el duro que el desnudo. Nadie pesca truchas a bragas enjutas hay que mojarse el
culo. Allá van leyes do quieren reyes. El Felipe hace lo que le da la gana o lo
que le ordena el Sr. Cofrade. Casarás y amansarás. A buen servicio mal galardón
o de desagradecido está el mundo lleno. Quien tiene buen sanjuán buena pascua
espera. Asno de muchos lobos se lo comen. El mozo y el gallo para un año. Dios me
de contienda con quien me entienda. Las nariz es tablilla del alma señuelo de sagacidades.
Pobre de aquellos que padezcan anosmia. Casamientos y riñas aprisa pues más
sabe el necio en su casa que el letrado en la ajena y en otras muchas partes

Leonardo, Miguel Ángel y la peste sobre el orden

A mediados del siglo XV, el joven imperio turco, habiéndose apoderado de los territorios históricos bizantinos, partió para conquistar los Balcanes y el espacio marino del Mediterráneo. Un choque con Venecia, brillante y omnipresente en la cuenca romana del "mar interior", se hizo inevitable. Los otomanos cerraron el Mar Negro a los genoveses y venecianos, capturaron Chipre y parte de las Islas Jónicas. Afortunadamente, la batalla de Lepanto en 1571, en palabras de Hegel, "salvó a Italia y, tal vez, a toda Europa de las inundaciones de los bárbaros". Los europeos creían que los turcos pueden ser derrotados. Y para la victoria, como se afirma en Venecia, todos los métodos son buenos. Incluyendo - y el más venenoso. Entonces, en cualquier caso, reclame los registros encontrados por eruditos griegos en uno de los archivos venecianos de mediados del siglo XVII.
En 1645, el objetivo del Sultán Ibrahim I, apodado Loco, lujurioso y fanfarrón, comenzó otra guerra con Venecia, esta vez para Creta. La flota turca se embarcó en el asedio de la fortaleza de Kandia, ahora Heraklion, la principal fortaleza de los venecianos en la isla. ¡Este asedio duró veintiún años!
Cuando la ciudad fue bloqueada por otomanos en tierra y mar y los muros de Kandia corrían el riesgo de caerse en cualquier momento, los inquisidores del Tribunal Supremo Serenissima, la República Más Serena, recibieron un interesante informe del director, su gobernador en Dalmacia y Albania. El general Leonardo Foscolo, una persona inusualmente activa, informó en secreto a los miembros del cuerpo responsable de mantener secretos de estado en la república que tenía una manera de romper el bloqueo turco. Camino revolucionario! ¡Messir Foscolo se ofreció a infectar al ejército otomano ... "la quintaesencia de la peste"! Al parecer, existe en él en forma de un líquido venenoso. Leonardo Foscolo, que era muy popular entre la población de la Croacia moderna, se adhirió a las tácticas de los nuevos métodos de guerra. Para empezar, propuso envenenar los pozos de la ciudad dálmata de Novigrad ocupada por el enemigo. En la Plaza de San Marcos, esta idea se entendió completamente, y pronto el barco vino de Serenissima con cien libras de arsénico a bordo. Si una embarcación con un líquido venenoso se había roto debido a una rodadura o una tormenta mientras nadaba, de acuerdo con la orden, era necesario arrojar inmediatamente sus fragmentos al mar: el agua de mar es un buen tanque séptico. Leonardo nombró a Miguel Ángel, es decir, el Dr. Salomón, responsable de la implementación de la Operación Fez. Los envenenadores no llegaron a Creta. Llegó el invierno de 1649, uno de los más fríos en la historia de la humanidad, el más tormentoso, y Foscolo decidió devolver los barcos a sus puertos nativos. ¿Qué le pasó a Miguel Ángel Salomón? No es difícil de adivinar: fue puesto en cuarentena severa en Venecia y por alguna razón estuvo en la cárcel durante cuarenta días, pero no durante varios meses ... Pero, ¿qué pasó con la "quintaesencia de la peste"? Esta historia aún no se conoce; Lo más probable es que la embarcación fuera arrojada vulgarmente al mar Adriático. Pero se sabe que Foscolo no se sentó en absoluto, sin hacer nada.
El veneciano Leonardo desarrolló un nuevo plan para los "servicios especiales" de Venecia: envenenar los prados donde pastan los caballos de la caballería turca. Foscolo era muy consciente de la naturaleza inmoral de tal sabotaje biológico. Señaló en una carta a los inquisidores que la operación que desarrolló fue "cruel, viola las leyes de la guerra y contradice la moral pública". Pero el fin más que justifica los medios. Por alguna razón, el crimen no tuvo lugar. Aparentemente, el Dux temía las innumerables consecuencias de tal diversión.
Sin embargo, el veneciano Leonardo en su carta fue desgarrador: los agentes de Serenissima usaron métodos venenosos no solo contra los musulmanes. estallan sus botas contra el cemento de la calle. Alguien con voz de

La novela es un concepto musical y eso mismo lo tiene ahora mismo mi
ciudad. Me arrojo de cabeza me sumo en el oleaje de los recuerdos a
la busca de una cierta congruencia y del hilo de la fábula. Las
trenzas de Ariadna y su rubia cabellera las llevamos recogidas en
cintas multicolores. Me multiplico, he de hacerme ubicuo y gozar del
don de la bilocación con que el Señor favoreció a algunos de sus
determinados siervos. No he de tomar las cosas ab ovo, ni tampoco
perder la calma. Tengo que perderme en fárragos de burocracia
mientras las mucamas romanas esperan el autobús en la parada de mi
barrio cuya marquesina se ha convertido en objetivo de los
gamberretes. Lo expliqué en un artículo que este vicio moderno de
las tribus se denomina clastomanía, un vicio como otro cualquier,
tan respetable, verbigracia, como la del millonario que vive en los
chaléts de abajo, los que vierten al río y que rebusca en los cubos
de la basura y los contenedores, aquejado del mal de Diógenes,
acumular y guardar en el nido igual que las cornejas, pues eso. Ayer
le vi al viejo bajar la cuesta de los álamos subido en una bicicleta
de carreras que seguramente no mercó en la tienda, sino que es una

discusiones a gritos en las salas de grados

The priest says silently:Grant, O Lord, that what we have taken with our mouth, we may receive with a pure mind; and from a temporal gift may it become to us an eternal remedy. Then he holds out the Chalice to the server -- in Solemn Masses to the deacon -- who pours wine into it for the first ablution, then the priest proceeds: May Thy Body, O Lord, which I have received, and Thy Blood which I have drunk, cleave to my bowels; and grant that no stain of sin may remain in me, who have been fed with this pure and holy Sacrament; Who livest and reignest for ever and ever.
